At long last we have received the Scalextric Bugatti Veyroncar C3199 this car has been the car that everyone wanted last year but with production delays it has caused the car to run over in to 2012 but now you can get your hands on the slick looking car.

I was a little dubious of the car as the real car lacks many features due to its aerodynamic shape, however the model is beautifully finished and the car has far more detail that I was expecting.

We have taken delivery of yet more Carrera 132 Evolution cars.

It seems that Carrera have also struggled to complete their cars that were due for release in 2011 as Scalextric has. With many releases coming just before Christmas and a few after it has made it a very expensive time for many collectors which we doubt they would have wanted around Christmas when there are enough pressures on their spending.

The cars that have been released in this year’s livery of the Corvette C6R which is the same as Scalextric release this year.

Two Classic 70's racers the Plymouth Superbird and Dodge Charger

The most popular car will be the Lola T222 and it does look great in the White Blue and Red livery.

The final car is one that was missed from our back order list the new Iconic Mercedes SLS F1 pace car. I personally love this car and think it has to be one of the best looking pace cars to have ever graced the F1 circuits.

We have received news that NSR has decided not to release more of the black test livery Audi R18 cars to the disappointment to many we are sure as the original release was so small.

The good news is that they have decided to release 4 new test liveries and the price has been lowered!

The new cars have an RRP of £66.00 and we have the items ready for pre order on the website for only £53.99 including delivery.
These cars will be in short supply with only 250 cars of each colour available worldwide

From the information that we have there does look like there are some very good releases this year, Scalextric have cut the amount of releases this year to allow them to catch up with what failed to arrive in 2011.
We are set to visit Scalextric and Hornby late in January and we will be able to bring you further news and hopefully some images but I do think that my visit will coincide the Nuremburg show and many items will not be on display. :(

The car has surprised me with the quality of the finish, it looks great and the two tone paint finish is surprisingly pleasing.

Our only concern with the car is the bumpers and these do look fragile but it was to be expected with the model being finished with high detail and realism.

The Hornby Track Master R8145 software has finally arrived, we have a lot of pre orders for this item and we can see why its a great bit of kit if you are looking to design a new layout or even an expansion to an existing board. The software is of £8.25 and will take the guess work out of any setup with a list of the correct track pieces required for your track. If you buy a few wrong pieces of track it will soon add up to more than the cost of the software.

The two trains that have arrived are the Olympic 1908 trainpack R2980 limited edition it’s a great train pack and with the Olympic connection we expect this pack to be a collector’s item in the future.

The last train in the Railroad version of the GWR 4-4-0R3061 with a few railroad 2011 releases being put back to 2012 this is sure to be a great seller over the next 2-3 months.

We have taken delivery of the largest and most expensive Scalextric set ever released. With an RRP of £499.99 makes you question what you actually get for your money.

The set consists of their largest track with the extended figure of 8 design. There are 2 straight lane changes. The main reason for the high cost of the sets comes from the 6 car powerbase, 2 transformers and the 6 digital cars and controllers.

We feel the price is more than enough as in the past high value sets have represented great value for money and as this set costs far more than anything ever seen before. We would think that it would follow this trend but it does not.

We feel you may be better to actually choose what you want in a layout this way you get the choice of track and then also the choice of cars and not 6 robust cars.

Scalextric Chevrolet Corvette C6R GT2 C3189 In Stock

We have had delivery of the new Scalextric Corvette C6R GT2 C3189 today.

It is a great looking car and has been released from Carrera in the past, we are supposed that the car has taken so long to be released by Scalextric as the Corvette is an iconic car in the GT2 endurance races such as Lemans and many more.

Scalextric have revised the handling of the car and fitted a less powerful magnet and added softer compound tyres, this is an attempt to make the car more drivable on the track. We have not yet had a chance to test the car but we hope the changes are for the best and make this car great fun to drive.

The Audi R8 car has been a very popular car across all manufacturers over the past 18 months. We are sure that NSR release will not be any different although it is running behind many of the other top slot car manufacturers. However we are sure that it will be miles ahead on the track!!

More Scalextric and Hornby release information

Yesterday we had a visit from the Hornby/Scalextric rep and we have obtained further information in regards to the release dates of many items.
There have been a lot of cars rolled over to next year as what happened this year. In discussion Scalextric has decided to reduce the amount of releases next year and they claim that they are going to put more reasonalble release dates for their cars in 2012, we also presume that this will ring true for thie Hornby releases, we only hope that this will stop so many items being late as we would say that probable 75%-80% of all their release fail to arrive in the quarter release date they give.
We are waiting for a comprhensive list of the items that are going to be rolled over to 2012 and we will update the site as soon as we have the information and we will also contact anyone who has pre ordered any outstanding items to ensure that you are informed before Christmas to try to stop any dissapointment of items failing to arrive prior for Christmas presents.

Amazingly there is just one release in November and one car in the next few days then it is going to be an assault of cars during December with a total of 21 cars set for release during the festive month.

There has been three additional car put back to 2012. With as many cars that are set for release in December we would not be surprised if a few more cars roll over to next year.

Slot.it news update on motor colour

We have just recived this information form the UK importer of Slot.it

"You may have, or will, notice that a batch of V12 motors, the 21.5K Rpm units used on box stock cars, has a different, dull brownish, brick-like orange colour rather than the usual bright. We've being delivered these motors and unfortunately, rejecting the whole production would have caused many months of delay on manufacturing of all cars. Colour aside, they are exactly the same as the bright orange ones, so we decided to accept them as this is only a cosmetic issue. This will affect Slot.it cars as well as Sideways in the immediate future, before reverting back to normal. It's only a matter of colour anyway.

We apologise for any trouble caused."

Three new Scalextric car in this week.
Today we saw the new Scalextric Mini cooper S C3216, A highey details finish on this particualr livery but we will say that the green colour is not one of the nicest that we have seen.

Other releases in earlier this week, we saw the release of Peugeot 908 Lemans car C3195, we have seen this livery from other manufacturers such as Avant, who released the car first. We always find that these cars sell well for their excellent road handling properties. Stock is limited as Scalextric have already sold out of this car, If you are looking for one of these cars then do order early to avoid disappointment.

The final release is another livery change of the robust Audi R8 LMS C3179. The R8 has been a popular release ever since its launch last year.

Da daaa! Suprise Delivery of James Bond C3162A LTD car

We have just taken delivery of the Scalextric James Bond C3162A car. The information we were provided was that the car was only going to be available near the end of October but today we received half of our allocation of the cars today.

Over half of our stock was taken up with pre orders, so we only have a limited amount of cars available till we receive the remainder of our delivery.

This James Bond car does not come with the ejector seat as the car did not feature this particular gadget in the Quantum of Solace film.
