Information of regarding magnets from Slot it

Please find below information sent to us from Slot.it

The current worldwide market for Neodymium magnets has become unstable
and prices for this rare earth have increased 5 fold this year, after
an earlier 4 fold increase in 2010.
This has had dramatic consequences on sourcing, with several
manufacturers refusing to give pricing.

In order to avoid interruption of production, we have taken two actions
1 - We have been able to source different, but equally ... attractive
magnets, that will in due course replace the existing units.
Performance is not affected, appearance is less shiny but I am sure
we've found a very good solution.
2 - White kits (all cars with code 'Z') will come without magnet. We
believe that in most cases this will not affect sales.

Please note this may be a trend that will occur from most manufacturers shortly due to the massive rise in prices for the resource.
