Scalextric have released the MG MGB C3143 and it does look great, the finish is superb, there is extensive cockpit detail although the co driver looks like he may have passed away with the reclined position of him in the seat.
We are pleased that the chassis supports digital plugs as we would suspect fitting a solder in plug would have caused many problems and would have upset many users of the car.
As for track performance we do not expect any new lap records with this car the tyres are to scale and as a result they are very thin, but ground clearance is very low so we hope that it will not be such a poor performer on the track after all.
These cars are in demand and we do not expect the cars to be on shop shelves for long as we hear that Scalextric are already sold out of the item from the release, we would expect further batch or a new livery to be released next year so if you miss out you may have to be patient but you will get your hands on one eventually. I would even hedge my bets that there will be a British racing green version next year.
